What is Anchor Pull-Out Testing?
Anchor pull testing is a critical method used to verify the strength and reliability of industrial fixings. As a vital component of modern Health & Safety regulations, this test determines the maximum load capacity of installations such as anchor bolts, scaffold anchors, and safety lifelines.
Anchor pull-out testing is conducted in accordance with internationally recognized standards and manufacturer recommendations.
Common applicable standards include:
International Standards
The Anchor Pull-Out Test is carried out using a hydraulic pull tester with calibrated load measurement equipment.
Step 1 – Anchor Identification
The installed anchor bolt or chemical anchor is identified and inspected for proper installation condition.
Step 2 – Equipment Setup
A hydraulic jack and reaction frame are installed over the anchor bolt. A calibrated load gauge or digital load cell is connected to measure the applied force.
Step 3 – Load Application
The load is gradually applied to the anchor bolt in tension according to the specified proof load requirement.
Step 4 – Monitoring
During the test, the following parameters are monitored:
Step 5 – Acceptance Criteria
The anchor passes the test if:
Step 6 – Reporting
A detailed test report will be issued containing:
